Industrial Security
This case study will detail a recent project undertaken by Titan Security Europe in the Czech Republic.
The Problem
A company in the Czech Republic was closing down one of its warehouses.
- There were 150 staff who worked in this warehouse, and the company had no place for them other than this warehouse, so the closure of the warehouse would lead to redundancy for these staff.
- There were concerns that the employees would react negatively to their redundancy.
- The company worried for the safety of the remaining employees as well as the property and assets of the warehouse.
Given the concerns that the company had, they approached us at Titan Security Europe and requested our warehouse security services.
Our Solution
The client told us they planned to make all of the employees aware of the redundancy at the same time and had concerns about the immediate reaction.
To ensure the safety of themselves and the property, we did the following:
- We placed 20 security officers on the site for the day, two were fully licenced armed guards
- Once the staff were told of the redundancy, our guards escorted them through the property to collect their belongings. This ensured that they passed through the property without doing any damage or becoming violent towards employees who were not losing their jobs.
- Once the employees had their belongings, our guards escorted them away from the property.
Escorting the ex-employees through the warehouse to collect their belongings and then from the site altogether ensured that there was absolutely no risk to any object or person that the potentially disgruntled employees may have damaged or harmed.
What Came Next?
Our work did not stop after the day the redundancies were announced. The client had concerns that the ex-employees may attempt to come back to the warehouse and could break in and cause damage even days or weeks after the redundancies.
To ensure that none of the personnel in question attempted to re-enter the facility, we placed four guards on the property throughout the day and four throughout the night, ensuring 24/7 round-the-clock security for the warehouse.
After a month, when the risks and threats were reduced, we decreased the number of guards to two per day and two per night, but still kept the guarding at 24/7 until the client felt that the threat had passed entirely.
The job has since ended, after two and a half months of guarding, as the client now feels the threat is over. However, there is an understanding that they can reach out to us again should a breach occur or should they become concerned with the security of this or another property again.
