This blog post will discuss how a popular type of security can be used to cover the security of an event, along with an example of when Titan Security Europe applied this service.

Concierge Security and Events

When we talk about concierge security, we are usually, but not always, referring to a type of security offered to hotels, businesses, or other sectors that involve a front desk or front-of-house position.

The idea of concierge security is to provide the necessary security measures to ensure the safety of all while also providing a friendly point of contact for all who enter.

Concierge security can be used for more than just front desk work, however.

For certain events, such as conferences, higher-end exhibitions, or any event with a VIP clientele, concierge security can be one of your best bets for ensuring the security you need while providing your guests with a good experience.

Our Client

A client tasked with securing an art exhibition in the UK approached us to talk about security options.

Considering where the venue was, what the exhibition was of, and the types of guests they were expecting, we suggested implementing our concierge security services for the event.

We explained that, while not a literal front desk role, using a guard trained in concierge-specific security would guarantee safety for the event while also not intimidating guests and providing them with a happy, helpful point of contact without alienating them as an obvious security presence.

The client would have peace of mind knowing that the event would be secured and that their guests would have a friendly face greeting them.

What We Did

We combined our concierge security with our typical event security services. This involved the following:

  • As is standard with any event security, whether the guard is concierge or not, the first thing we did following our planning with our client was a sweep of the venue for any potential dangers or privacy threats.
  • Once the venue was swept, our guards cleared it as safe for the event to proceed.
  • We then asked our client to provide our guards with a guest list for the event. Our guards stood at the doors of the venue, and when guests started to arrive, they were only admitted if they were on the guest list. Our guards asked for each guest’s name and for proof of identification before allowing them through to the event.
  • This meant that only authorised personnel could enter the event; anyone who could not verify that they were on the list was turned away.
  • Our guards then remained at the door for the entirety of the event, ensuring that only those on the list could be admitted for entry or re-entry should a guest have left the venue.

The Outcome

Our client’s main concern was unpaid or unauthorised guests entering the event. Thanks to our guards, only those on the guest list were granted access to the venue and the event within. The event therefore ran smoothly and without incident.

The client was very satisfied with the service provided by our guards, and we hope to work with them again on their next event.
