What Titan Security Europe did to aid a business closing their office and initiating staff redundancies.
The Corporate Security Client
Titan Security Europe was recently approached by a client representing an office management team in Germany.
This office was unfortunately being closed down, and with it, all of the staff that worked there were being made redundant.
The management team had heard about other workplaces closing down and how redundant workers began rioting in protest, so they had some security concerns. As established clients who were satisfied with the security services we provided them in the past, they approached us for our security services.
Security Concerns
The client had the following security concerns about the redundancies:
- They had concerns about the workers reacting emotionally and possibly violently when the news that they were losing their jobs was broken to them.
- There were concerns that workers would refuse to leave the property at all.
- The client was also concerned that workers may attempt to break into the office to steal supplies, technology, or data before the office was emptied.
When the client approached us, they laid out these concerns, which helped us come up with the best corporate security plan for them.
Our corporate security strategy
We took the client’s concerns along with our own knowledge on this kind of security concern based on past jobs we have done to organise the best security plan we could for them.
We put our guards in plain clothes so they were not an overly obvious and intimidating security presence, meaning that the workers did not feel that they were untrusted or in any kind of trouble, which in itself could have led to riot.
Our security plan was as follows:
- We placed our guards on the site the moment the news was broken to the workers. We had our guards placed both in and around the building. This helped to tackle the concern of how the workers may react – should violence, riot or other protest have broken out, our guards would have been able to shut this down immediately.
- Our guards remained on site as the workers left at the end of the day. We had guards on the doors checking who was leaving, as well as guards patrolling the property to ensure no one stayed behind. This ensured that all workers left the property and no one tried to hang around.
- Our guards also carried out bag checks as each worker left to ensure nothing was stolen.
- Further to this, our guards have been, and still are, guarding and patrolling the office on a 24/7 basis until the office is emptied out. This makes sure that no worker attempts to enter the office to steal or damage anything in defiance of their redundancy.
The Outcome
Due to our presence on the day that the news of the redundancy was broken and the continual guarding until workers left the building for the final time, none of the first concerns the client raised ever came to light.
Currently, we are still providing our security services to the office block until the office is entirely emptied of technology, data, supplies, and anything else that could be stolen, resold, or kept. We have had no incidents, and our client is therefore incredibly happy with the outcome.
